Bishkek, May 31, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with heads of delegations who arrived in Tashkent to attend the meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs. Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev participated in the meeting.
Welcoming the heads of delegations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the President of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral partnerships between law enforcement agencies of the CIS countries.
Participants of the meeting stressed that today the CIS Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs is an important mechanism for effective cooperation, exchange of best practices and knowledge, as well as close coordination in the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime and human trafficking.
The reduction of crimes in the Commonwealth area by more than 25 % over the past five years demonstrates the effectiveness of the Council's work.
During the meeting the sides considered the prospects of expanding cooperation between the internal affairs bodies of the CIS countries, including the organization of effective interagency cooperation, joint activities, and implementation of programs in the field of professional training of personnel.
The heads of delegations expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for a warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings on behalf of their heads of state.
In conclusion, President Mirziyoyev wished a successful meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs.
On the eve of the meeting, the heads of delegations laid flowers at one of the most famous monuments of Uzbekistan in Tashkent - the Monument of Independence and Humanism.
