Kyrgyz Justice Ministry holds regional meetings to improve population’s legal culture

Bishkek, June 2, 2019. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic held coordination meetings in Batken, Osh and Jalal-Abad Oblasts on May 27-30 with the participation of territorial subdivisions of public authorities on the implementation of the Action Plan for the realization of the Concept of raising the legal culture of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2016-2020.
In the course of the meeting, the representatives of the public authorities provided information about the activities carried out in the field of legal education of citizens, as well as they touched upon proposal to improve the work in this area, the press service of the ministry reported.
The main purpose of the activities was to improve the quality of information provided to the population by territorial public authorities, as well as to create a coordination mechanism for information exchange at the regional level.
In addition, the Legal Publicity and Information Department of the Ministry of Justice held meetings with representatives of local councils of Batken and Osh Oblasts. During the meetings, representatives of the department gave explanations on the requirements for the execution of orders of representative local government bodies and the procedure for their official publication.
Since 2013 the website of the ministry has the Centralized Legal Information Databank of the Kyrgyz Republic, which also contains resolutions of representative bodies of local self-government.
Coordination meetings were held with the support of the European Union Rule of Law in the Kyrgyz Republic Program (Phase 2).
