Timeline of Orok conflict

AKIPRESS.COM - Chuy region interior department released a timeline of the incident that occurred on June 5 in Orok village.

Incident occurred after the Eid al-Fitr prayers in the village.

Police were called in to Orok village after the fight between the young men. Police arrived on the scene and confirmed the fight involving 3 teenagers. A heated exchange of arguments rose to a fight. 2 teenagers were hospitalized as a result of the fight.
The third teenager was there to break up the fight and received injuries. He was taken to hospital in Bishkek.
Pre-trial investigation into hooliganism was launched.

A 23-year-old man and 15-year-old teen were help by police for investigation.

Relatives of the injured teenager gathered together to express their outrage. Local authorities, including Chuy region governor, arrived on the scene to talk to the locals. During the meeting, one of the relatives incited locals to provocative actions (to break windows).
Some of the relatives and fellow villagers decided to set a haystack in one of the houses on fire, break windows of 12 houses and cars parked in backyards.
31 people were detained as a result.
Interior Ministry called on the public not to regard the situation as inter-ethnic conflict.

Police patrolled the village to ensure public safety. The situation in the village was described as stable.
The Health Ministry said in a statement that injured teenagers' condition is stable.
Patrolling the area is still under way. The situation is under the control.
