AKIPRESS.COM - JSC Tin One Mining began developing the largest tin deposit in Central Asia in North Kazakhstan region, the press service of head of the region Kumar Aksakalov said.
According to him, exploration of the only tin deposit in Kazakhstan - Syrymbet - in Atyrau district lasted for many years and tin mining process started since this May.
"This is the first large mineral developer in our region. We were waiting for implementation of this project for a long time. A record amount of investments, about 100 billion tenge, will be contributed to this project. Next year we are looking forward to construction of a mining and refining plant with 600 workers," Aksakalov noted during his visit to the tin deposit.
Vice President of the Tin One Mining company Dmitriy Khvan in his turn underlined all conditions were created for mineral developers of North Kazakhstan region.
Tin deposits in the region acounts for about 65% of the total reserves in Kazakhstan. There are 153,000 tons in Syrymbet deposits.
The company plans to produce 10,000 tons of tin per year. The total volume of products sold for the entire period of operation is estimated at 500 billion tenge.
Experts say the project will help Kazakhstan enter the top 10 largest tin producers in the world. One ton of tin is estimated at $21,000 on the London Stock Exchange.
