AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek hosted on June 7 the Eurasian Regional Parliamentarians Forum "Monitoring and Evaluation for Greater Effectiveness of Parliamentarians"organized by Kyrgyz Parliament.
Participants discussed planning the policies and assessment systems in the Eurasian countries.
A member of the governing committee of the Global Forum of Parliamentarians on Monitoring and Assessment, MP Natalia Nikitenko delivered a presentation on the action plan of national parliaments in the Eurasian region to create a national assessment policy.
An inter-parliamentary meeting of lawmakers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan was held in 2016 for the first time ever, she said. In 2017, the 3rd Global Forum was held in Kyrgyzstan, government bodies were set important tasks in the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation system.
It is necessary to determine the structure and form of government of the regional forum of parliamentarians of the Eurasian region, approve its goals and objectives, designate the venue for the next forum in 2020, Nikitenko said.
In 2015 in Nepal, the international community celebrated the International Year of Assessment with the participation of delegations from 80 countries, as a result of which the Global Forum of Parliamentarians was organized.
The Eurasian Regional Parliamentarians Forum in Bishkek is one of the regional events of the international forum. The event is attended by lawmakers, representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Global Forum of Parliamentarians, UNICEF, UNFPA, the National Monitoring and Evaluation Network, civil society, experts and scientists.
