AKIPRESS.COM - Specialist in Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Inna Punda said the FAO and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development launched a campaign in Kazakhstan amed at developing dairy industry, kapital.kz reported. Implementation of the project "Promoting the development of milk supply chains" started in Kazakhstan since 2016, according to her. The project's purpose is to teach private farms to comply with technical standards in order to sell their raw materials to the plants.
According to Inna Punda, one third of the Kazakhstanis buy milk in markets without any certification and milk control. This is a great risk, which may lead to illnesses that are transmitted from animals to people, she noted.
The specialist underlined that milk should be inspected and properly sold in the country to avoid any risks. The project educates farmers how to comply with the technical standard of milk business.
