Bishkek, June 11, 2019. /Kabar/. The gross domestic product in Kyrgyzstan on the preliminary estimates amounted to about KGS 184 billion in period January-May 2019, this became known during the press conference at the National Statistics Committee.
According to Committee’s data, this figure has increased by 5.6% compared to January-May 2018.
Excluding the Kumtor mine development companies, GDP amounted to more than KGS 161 billion and increased by 1.5% from January to May 2019.
The increase in industrial production as compared to January-May 2018 was due to production of base metals (by 47.2%), mining of metal ores (by 38.2%), coal (by 19.8%), crude oil and natural gas (by 15.5%), as well as in textile production (by 8.3%).
The growth in agriculture was recorded at 1.7%, mainly due to the increase in livestock production. Positive trends were also recorded in construction, where the growth was 5%, wholesale and retail trade - 4.4%.
Due to the above mentioned indicators, the volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to KGS 101 billion since the beginning of 2019.
