FM Aidarbekov takes part in UN system permanent coordinators meeting

Bishkek, June 11, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting of permanent coordinators of the United Nations system in Central Asia in Bishkek with the participation of representatives of the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe , the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
He noted the main successes achieved by Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the UN since its independence, and also highlighted the key priorities that should form the basis of project activities of international organizations.
Touching upon the issues of regional security, Aidarbekov emphasized the role of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy, stressing that the challenges facing the Central Asian states, objectively dictate the need to consolidate joint efforts for an effective and timely response to them.
The minister noted that building a free state with a strong civil society is one of the most important tasks for the country's leadership. In this regard, he urged the United Nations to continue cooperation with the Government of Kyrgyzstan, taking into account the national specifics and cultural characteristics of Kyrgyzstan.
Meetings of UN permanent coordinators take place in turn in each of the Central Asian states, during which priorities for UN project activities as well as other issues that need to be addressed jointly are discussed.
