Bishkek, June 12, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has told his Mongolian counterpart Khaltmaagiin Battulga about priority areas for cooperation between the two countries.
In the course of extended format negotiations within the framework of the Mongolian President’s official visit, the Kyrgyz leader noted the need to intensify cooperation in trade and economic activities and proposed to hold a business forum in this regard as part of the Kyrgyz-Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission.
Jeenbekov added that two countries also cooperate closely within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), where Mongolia has the observer status and expressed gratitude to the Mongolian side for supporting the activities within the framework of the presidency of Kyrgyzstan in the Organization.
The President expressed interest in learning the Mongolian experience in the mining industry, exchanging views on the efficient management and use of natural resources and digitalization the activities of public authorities.
Besides, the head of state noted that there is need to fully use the existing potential of interregional cooperation between the countries as part of the regional development policy.
In addition, Jeenbekov expressed interest in joint work in the field of history and archaeology.
"As I know, there are ethnic Kyrgyz living in Bayan-Ölgii Province. We are very interested in involving representatives of the academic community to conduct research in this area. I am sure that we will find more points of contact, as well as other information uniting our history," Jeenbekov stressed.
The Kyrgyz President noted that the official visit of Khaltmaagiin Battulga to Kyrgyzstan is a big step in strengthening and developing the Kyrgyz-Mongolian relations of friendship and cooperation.
