Bishkek, June 13, 2019. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States Bolot Otunbayev on June 11 held a meeting with Douglas Jackson, the President of Project C.U.R.E, during which sides discussed cooperation issues between Kyrgyzstan and this organization, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
In particular, Otunbayev informed Jackson about the work of country's leadership on construction of new medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan, as well as modernization of existing laboratories. At the same time, he drew attention to the lack of funds for the purchase of new equipment. In this regard, he expressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in developing cooperation with Project C.U.R.E. and invited Jackson to visit Kyrgyzstan.
Jackson, thanking for the invitation, expressed his readiness to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan on projects to assist medical institutions in the country.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to implement a number of projects in the healthcare sector in the near future.
PROJECT C.U.R.E. (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment) is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the world that delivers medical supplies and equipment to developing countries.
