Bishkek, June 13, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia are strengthening cooperation in the field of traditional knowledge protection, the press service of the State Service for Intellectual Property and Innovation (Kyrgyz Patent) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Kyrgyz Patent and the Intellectual Property Administration of Mongolia has signed on June 12 a Memorandum of understanding on the protection of intellectual property rights and traditional knowledge as part of the official visit of Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to develop and strengthen cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights and traditional knowledge protection.
According to the national legislations of the two countries and international treaties, patent offices will exchange information, regulations and other documents, as well as experience and expertise in the field of intellectual property and traditional knowledge protection.
Chairwoman of Kyrgyz Patent Dinara Moldosheva noted the need for mutually agreed forms of cooperation in order to implement effective and reasonable protection of intellectual property rights and traditional knowledge.
Since 2014 Kyrgyz Patent planned to sign an interagency agreement with the Mongolian side in the field of intellectual property rights and traditional knowledge protection within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Mongolian Intergovernmental commission on Cooperation.
