Kyrgyz, Ukrainian light industry representatives discuss prospects of cooperation

Bishkek, June 13, 2019. /Kabar/. A videoconference on the development of cooperation in light industry between Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine was held on June 12 at the initiative of Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Ukraine.
The president of the Association of Light Industry enterprises, representatives of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use, textile and clothing enterprises and higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic represented the Kyrgyz side, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Ukrainian side included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ukrainian Association of Light Industry, textile, clothing, leather and footwear manufacturers, as well as educational institutions of Ukraine. Employees of the Kyrgyz Embassy and the representatives of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ukraine also attended the event.
During the videoconference the sides discussed the prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of light industry, exchanged experience in the development of textile and footwear production, as well as agreed to establish direct contacts at the level of associations and enterprises of the two countries to promote each other's products and establish joint ventures. Ukrainian companies expressed interest in supply of cotton, leather and knitwear raw materials from Kyrgyzstan.
Videoconference participants also discussed the issues of exchange of experience and training of Kyrgyz specialists on the basis of Ukrainian universities.
As a result of the event, light industry representatives reached an agreement on conclusion a Memorandum of cooperation between the Kyrgyz and Ukrainian Associations of Light Industry, as well as the organization of mutual visits of business delegations.
