Bishkek, June 13, 2019. /Kabar/. All sectors of the economy without restrictions are open for implementation of investment projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, and liberal conditions have been created for investors, First Deputy Minister Kubatbek Boronov said in his keynote speech at the Kyrgyz-Chinese business forum.
He noted that today Kyrgyzstan is aimed at promoting sustainable growth by strengthening regional cross-border linkages, taking into account that the Kyrgyz Republic, as a landlocked country with a limited domestic market, would benefit greatly from deeper regional integration, in view of its important potential for electricity exports, as well as good regional trade and transit position.
"All sectors of the economy are open for implementation of investment projects without restrictions in the Kyrgyz Republic. The tax burden has been reduced in order to stimulate and support the business sector , that have made it possible to create in Kyrgyzstan the most liberal tax regime in the Central Asian region. In addition, Kyrgyzstan has a cheap and skilled labor and cheap electricity compared to other countries in the region," Boronov said.
At the same time, Boronov stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic's position in the Doing Business 2019 regular study of the World Bank has improved its performance by 7 positions over the reporting period 2017-2018.
"Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to attraction of foreign direct investment, innovative technologies and industry experience of investors. For these purposes, we are actively working to improve investment and trade policies, and work is under way to increase markets and improve access to them. Thus, the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency is currently accompanying a number of projects implemented by investors from China in the Kyrgyz Republic," the official said.
Boronov informed the participants of the business forum that opening three enterprises in Jalal-Abad Oblast, as well as a plant for the production of grinding bodies in Chui Oblats are planned in the near future. The total amount of investments of these projects is USD 152 million.
The Kyrgyz-Chinese business forum is held in Bishkek as part of the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kyrgyzstan.
