Jeenbekov tells about priorities during presidency of Kyrgyzstan in SCO

Bishkek, June 14, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov today at a meeting of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which is being held in Bishkek, spoke about the results achieved under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the oganization.
"One of the main issues raised by us during our chairmanship in the Organization was the creation of a mechanism of inter-parliamentary cooperation of the SCO member states. This will reveal the enormous potential of joint activities in this area," said the President.
He said that in order to strengthen the trade and economic component in the country, a large-scale event was held - a business forum on the theme: "Expanding the boundaries of cooperation of the SCO". "I would like also to mention the Forum of Women and the Media Forum of the SCO countries. Cultural and humanitarian ties between the peoples of our countries are the basis of interstate relations. It is important to take measures on tourism and humanitarian exchanges between the SCO states, familiarity with culture and values. The vigorous activity of the SCO Youth Council gives us hope that the future of the SCO is in safe hands. In the period of universal globalization, the issue of the values ​​of the modern world, self-identification of the peoples and ethnic groups of the world, their role in the history of human civilization is becoming increasingly topical," he said.
Jeenbekov also noted that in this regard, the Kyrgyz side launched an initiative to create a cultural integration center of the SCO countries and the Silk Road countries. The establishment of the Center would make a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties in the SCO area.
"Within the framework of our chairmanship, cooperation in the field of healthcare, physical culture and sports received an additional impetus. I am pleased to note the establishment of close contacts between the Kunming and Issyk-Kul SCO marathons," he stressed.
The head of state also noted that the coming year should be a preparation for the anniversary date - the 20th anniversary of the SCO. He expressed the hope that the new decade of the SCO will enter a pragmatic, dynamic and creative organization.
