Bishkek, June 14, 2019. /Kabar/.Kyrgyz-Indian Business Forum is held in Bishkek as part of the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kyrgyzstan.
This Business Forum was organized by the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic with the assistance of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event includes a two-day forum: an official part and two discussion sessions focusing on sustainable and inclusive development, as well as a discussion of trade relations and the search for solutions to problems and barriers on the first day, and a presentation of investment projects and cooperation proposals of the Kyrgyz and Indian sides on the second day.
The purpose of this Forum is to activate trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and India, as well as to discuss the development of cooperation in joint implementation of infrastructure and energy projects, attracting Indian companies with advanced technologies in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Business Forum acts as a kind of platform for meetings and discussions with both government officials and major Indian companies and organizations.
The Forum is attended by Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his speech, Jeenbekov welcomed Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his recent re-election as Prime Minister of India and the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the parliamentary elections. At the same time, Jeenbekov stressed the need to improve the existing potential by implementing joint projects and increasing trade turnover between the countries, and urged Indian businessmen to invest in Kyrgyzstan. The Indian Prime Minister thanked for the organization of the official visit at a high level and noted the need to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation by intensifying relations between the business communities of the two countries.
The Forum is attended by more than 200 people, including officials and 50 members of business delegations, as well as representatives of leading companies of the two countries.
