Bishkek hosts international freestyle wrestling tournament

Bishkek, June 17, 2019. /Kabar/. /.The international freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of Kaba uulu Kozhomkul was held in Bishkek, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports reported.
The competition took place on June 13-14 at the Palace of Sports, where 179 athletes from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan participated.
The winners are:
57 kg:
1.Almaz Smanbekov (Kyrgyzstan);
2.Akbar Kurbanov (Kazakhstan);
3.Mukhamad Ikromov (Tajikistan), Rahat Kalzhan (Kazakhstan).
61 kg:
1. Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov (Kyrgyzstan);
2. Nurislam Sanayev (Kazakhstan);
3. Zhahongirmirza Turobov (Uzbekistan), Zhandos Ismayilov (Kazakhstan).
65 kg:
1. Nurgazy Abdurazakov (Kyrgyzstan);
2.Chingizkhan Erdogan (Turkey);
3.Temurzhon Usmonokhunov (Uzbekistan), Tilek Sharsheyev (Kyrgyzstan).
70 kg:
1. Ilyas Zhumai (Kazakhstan);
2.Islambek Orolbekov (Kyrgyzstan);
3. Ruslan Sadybakasov (Kyrgyzstan), Meirzhan Ashyrov (Kazakhstan).
74 kg:
1. Arsalan Budazhapov (Kyrgyzstan);
2. Yenes Uslu (Turkey);
3. Bolat Sakayev (Kazakhstan), Mansur Syrgak uulu (Kyrgyzstan).
Kaba uulu Kozhomkul (1888 - 1955) - a Kyrgyz strongman, hero (baatyr).He was among the first chairmen of collective farms in the Kokomerensky Rural Council of Kyrgyzstan. He became famous not only as a heavyweight athlete, but also as an excellent hunter.
For his work, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Certificate of Honor of the Government of the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic.
