Mayors of Almaty and Shymkent retain their posts

AKIPRESS.COM - Mayors of Almaty and Shymkent cities retained their posts after President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev re-elected the governors and mayors of the country, Zakon.kz reports.
According to the Constitution of Kazakhstan, Tokayev ordered to appoint Baibek Baurzhanov as mayor of the city of Almaty and Gabidulla Abdrakhimov - as mayor of the city of Shymkent.
The order on appointment of mayors of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent cities and regions was signed by the President on June 12.
New mayor of the city of Nur-Sultan becomes Altai Kulginov, who earlier served as governor of West Kazakhstan region.
