French actor Gerard Depardieu to be in documentary about Uzbekistan's historical and architectural heritage

AKIPRESS.COM - Representatives of the B-Tween French production company reportedly visited Uzbekistan on June 15 as part of preparations for shooting a documentary about the historical and architectural heritage, as well as cultural and gastronomic traditions of Uzbekistan with French actor Gerard Depardieu in the cast, Uzreport reports.
The team visited Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and other cities to learn about architectural and historical monuments and other interesting locations for shootings.
The documentary called Silk Road is expected by French filmmakers to become Uzbekistan's advertisement presenting the nation as a fascinating tourist destination with a rich history and traditions.
Shootings of the main part of the film are set for September 2019.
Actor Gerard Depardieu visited Uzbekistan in November 2012. Back then, he was reported to take part in shooting of the film by Gulnara Karimova. Depardieu and Karimova worked in the studio to record French actor's reading Karimova's poetry.
