Arrest of ex-banker Jomart Yertayev extended in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - Imprisonment of a former banker Jomart Yertayev was extended for 5 months in Almaty, the press service of the Almaty city court reports. The court said his arrest will be prolonged until August 15.
Yertayev was placed in pre-trial detention facility of Almaty in March 2019.
He's been in the international wanted list since March, 2018.
Yertayev was accused of embezzlement of 144 billion tenge of BANK RBK from 2011 to 2017 using his official position and in collusion with others.
54 workers of bank are suspected in embezzlement along with Yertayev.
15 billion tenge or $39 million were recovered and property worth 48 billion tenge or $127 million were arrested.
