Uzbekistan plans to join Hague Conference on Private International Law by year end

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan plans to join the Hague Conference on Private International Law by year end, the Uzbek foreign ministry said.
The Hague Conference on Private International Law is an intergovernmental organisation in the area of private international law, that administers several international conventions, protocols and soft law instruments. The Hague Conference was first convened by Tobias Asser in 1893 in The Hague.
Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Justice Minister are taking part in the session of the HCCH permanent diplomatic conference.
The procedure of Uzbekistan's joining the HCCH began in March 2019. It is expected that following the 22nd session of the diplomatic conference, the HCCH will adopt the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgements in Civil and Commercial Matters.
"A number of bilateral meetings, including the meeting with the leadership of the HCCH and Permanent Court of Arbitration, is expected on the sidelines of the visit," the Uzbek foreign ministry said.
