AKIpress news agency turns 19

AKIPRESS.COM - 19 years ago on June 19, the Agency of Commercial Information "Kyrgyzstan" known as AKIpress registered the domain www.akipress.org.
Initially, the idea of creation of a news agency that would give on-the-spot news was an experimental project of the AKIpress analytical journal. The site functioned in a test mode for some time, and then the first in Kyrgyzstan non-governmental news agency started working with only 3 employees in the beginning.
Since its inception, the news agency focused on posting news quickly and unbiased reporting.
In 2002, the news agency opened its first independent press center.
In 2018, 20 million unique viewers visited the AKIpress websites with total number of views reaching 263 million.
Hundreds of news items covering the latest events in Kyrgyzstan in political, economic, social, scientific, cultural, diplomatic, sports and other fields appear on the portal's pages on a daily basis.
Today, the AKIpress has the largest in Kyrgyzstan network of correspondents in all regions of the country allowing us to cover lives of local communities.
