Bishkek, June 19, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov has met with employees of the Academy of Social Sciences of the People’s Republic of China.
Jeenbekov expressed his deep gratitude to the Chinese scientists for conducting a thorough study of the history of the Kyrgyz people in Chinese archive sources and publishing them in the form of a collection, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
"During our meeting in Beijing, we discussed Kyrgyz-Chinese history extensively. After that, you were doing a lot of work for months and found a lot of new materials and supporting data that moved the history of the Kyrgyz back a thousand years. We are very pleased with these findings," Jeenbekov said.
He stressed the collected materials should be published in the academic press and widely disseminated.
Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the same institute, Professor Li Jinxiu noted the publication of a book on the history of the Kyrgyz was made possible thanks to the personal support of Jeenbekov.
"The results of our work were made possible thanks to the hard work of scientists from the two countries, with the support of the Kyrgyz and Chinese leaders," Li Jinxiu said and expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz President and the Muras public foundation.
Chinese scientists presented Jeenbekov a book about Kyrgyz history.
Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China regarding the joint study of archival documents was discussed by the relevant ministries of the two countries in the framework of the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to China in June 2018.
President Jeenbekov met with this group of the Chinese scientists in August of the same year in Bishkek.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov instructed Kiyas Moldokasymov, Chairman of the Muras foundation to continue cooperation with the Chinese side to conduct research on sources concerning the Kyrgyz people.
As a result of scientific research, new information indicating that the history of the Kyrgyz goes back for eight centuries was found in the official Chinese written sources.
