Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan sacked

AKIPRESS.COM - Otabek Murodov was dismissed as Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan by the president on June 20.
Murodov was appointed Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan in January 2018 replacing Ihtiyor Abdullaev, who was appointed Chairman of the State Security Service, but later was arrested for power abuse and bribery.
Senate Speaker Nigmatulla Yuldashev has become the new Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan.
Yuldashev, 57, is former Deputy Prosecutor General (2008-2011). In 2011-2015, he served as Justice Minister of Uzbekistan. In January 2015, he became a Senator and then became Senate Speaker.
