Jeenbekov receives Chairman of National Statistics Committee

Bishkek, June 20, 2019 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov has received Akylbek Sultanov, the Chairman of the National Statistics Committee, the press service of the President reported.
Sultanov presented information on Kyrgyzstan’s social and economic development for the period January-May 2019. According to the data, following the results of 5 months of the current year the volume of GDP amounted to KGS 184 billion and increased by 5.6%. GDP growth was achieved by increasing the volume of industrial production, agriculture, construction and services. The increase in investment in fixed capital by 4.9% was also noted.
As part of the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the Country, the Statistical Committee, along with other public authorities, should switch to an electronic form of data collection and dissemination, which will reduce the risk of errors, increase the speed and processing of data collection, as well as reduce the burden on respondents.
In this regard, the President instructed together with the Electronic Interaction Center state enterprise and other public authorities, to ensure the exchange of necessary information as part of the Tunduk system for optimization the number and forms of reporting in order to reduce the burden on reporting business.
The President stressed the need for the Committee to ensure timely and complete provision of relevant data on the regions, while strengthening the analytical part of the work. Active participation in ensuring the completeness and quality of information in economic books, as well as in the framework of the Digital area platform were also instructed.
President Jeenbekov also paid attention to the need to ensure the reliability of statistical data, reduce statistical errors in all spheres of life of the country, especially in the foreign trade turnover.
