Bishkek, June 24, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov at the meeting of the Committee on Industry and Entrepreneurship under the National Council on Sustainable Development told why the development of the industrial sector has been become one of the most topical issues.
In his opening speech, Sooronbay Jeenbekov stated there is need to recognize that the current situation of the industry in Kyrgyzstan remains quite difficult.
"The challenges facing this industry are very serious. Technological processes in industrial enterprises are being digitized and working principles are changing very rapidly. Instead of cheap labor, the focus is on qualified specialists. The introduction of digital technologies is changing the structure of the economy and creating not only new products, but also completely new economies. The production cost of products manufactured through electronic commerce and smart logistics is significantly reduced. There are opportunities to produce cheap and high-quality products using new composite materials. The world's companies do not rely on the manufacturing industry, but on research and development of new technologies," he said.
The President of Kyrgyzstan also noted that industrial companies of international level locate their production in countries with specific, favorable conditions for innovation and scientific research.
He reminded that with the country's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, attention is paid to competitiveness.
"I believe that one of the main duties of the state to counter these challenges is to boost the competitiveness of the industrial sector," President Jeenbekov said.
