Bishkek, June 25, 2019. /Kabar/. "Children’s harmonious development remains a priority of the state," President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said in his keynote speech at the National Forum, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child and 25th anniversary to Kyrgyzstan’s accession to this Convention.
The Government of Kyrgyzstan needs to create decent conditions for the development of children, improving the material situation of families, their social support and protection.
"The National Development Strategy of the country considers the creation of an environment for human development, unleashing everyone's potential and ensuring their well-being as the main priority. The priorities of this strategy meet all the requirements of the UN Global Agenda," he stressed.
"Early development of children, representation of children's interests and protection of children's rights, and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals for children remain a priority for all branches of government, local authorities and public organizations. Every child in Kyrgyzstan should live and develop in a family environment. A happy child can only grow up in a happy family," the President said.
Therefore, strengthening the institution of the family should become a priority.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that in order to bring these goals to the attention of the general public, he personally supported the TUMAR national campaign, which was launched on 1 June this year.
"Children are the future of our state, and we must do everything to make our children grow up to be cheerful, healthy, educated and spiritually advanced people. I wish the participants of the Forum an opportunity to openly discuss topical issues of child protection and to find solutions," Jeenbekov concluded.
