AKIPRESS.COM - Representatives of national security of Kazakhstan during the government meeting said that warehouses with weapons are located 200 meters from Arys city, however, they should have been built 3 km far from the city, Zakon.kz reports.
"However, according to our rules, they should have been removed for 3 km. We had repeatedly applied documents to prolong the distance to 10 km. However, to do this, residents should have been resettled. There is a 800-meter railroad. We are transporting ammunition to other places since 2005. Due to the shortage of funding, we could not carry all ammunition out," Deputy Minister of Defense Murat Bektanov said.
Military warehouses exist in Arys since 1960s.
Deputy Minister of Interior Yuri Iliyn said the necessary measures will be taken to resolve the problem of location of these depots near the settlements.
According to him, the decision of location of the warehouses should be taken by the Ministry of Defense.
