Citizens pay KGS 125.7 mln in fines for traffic violations

Bishkek, June 25, 2019. /Kabar/. The cameras of the Safe City component as of June 24 have recorded 211 thousand 384 events, Kubanychbek Shatemirov, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
According to his data, 89, 980 resolutions (42.6%) have been paid out of them for the total amount of KGS 125 million 730 thousand.
"The main objectives of the Safe City component of the Smart City project are to reduce the number of accidents and deaths on the roads. Thus, the road death rate in Bishkek has decreased by 52.9%, in Chui Oblast by 37.2%, and in the country by 21.5%," Shatemirov said.
The deputy director said the second stage of the project is being implemented, which should cover the entire territory of Kyrgyzstan - 7 oblasts, 2 cities of national importance, 15 cities of oblast and rayon importance, 73 settlements.
In addition to the complexes that record traffic rules violations, a video surveillance system with facial recognition function is installed at 38 intersections in Bishkek.
10 cameras have been installed at each intersection, working in the online mode.
"Also, the video surveillance system has the ability to implement the following analytical functions: detection and classification of targets (man, group of people, vehicle, etc.) in the surveillance area; response to the passage of people in a given direction (entrances, exits, passages, etc.); detection of crowds of people; formation of statistics on the density of the flow of people," Shatemirov said.
Currently, the video surveillance system is open to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Main Department of Road Safety of the Internal Ministry, the State Committee for National and the Main Department of Internal Affairs for Bishkek city.
