AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan launched a pilot project to export its fresh fruits to Oman on June 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The Embassy and the Oman International Logistics Company ASYAD have earlier co-organized the first trial delivery of Uzbek fruits to Muscat, capital of Oman. To date, about 200 kg fresh peaches of "Nectarine" variety and famous Uzbek melons have been delivered to Oman by air.
During the event, it was stated that Uzbekistan ranks among the suppliers of a wide range of high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables. In this context, the Omani market is one of the priorities for the export of Uzbek fresh fruit.
The representatives of ASYAD emphasized the readiness of the Omani side to provide all the necessary conditions for creating a so-called hub for the delivery and distribution of Uzbek fruits and vegetables in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.
Representatives of the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates highly appreciated the taste of Uzbek fruits and expressed their willingness to discuss the prospects for re-export of Uzbek agricultural products from Oman to their countries.
The event also discussed issues of further development of cooperation in the supply of fresh fruits to the countries of the region, as well as an exchange of views on finding new and effective routes for the delivery of Uzbek products.
