Bishkek, June 26, 2019. /Kabar/. The role of deputies of local councils is significant in the development of regions , Nurdin Alisherov, the spokesman of the State Agency for Local Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations (SALGIER) told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
There are 453 village and 31 city councils in Kyrgyzstan.
"The total number of deputy mandates is 8,722. We have signed a Memorandum with the Hanns Seidel Foundation to conduct trainings for local council members. The trainings are aimed at training deputies to use the budget, municipal property and document flow more effectively," Alisherov said.
He said the trainings are held in a pilot mode in Chui Oblast, and will give an opportunity to increase the potential of municipal and civil servants.
Founder of the training center Bakyt Ryspayev said that the project is aimed at improving the efficiency of local councils. "The training consists of 2 stages, after which 24 people will have an opportunity to participate in an interdepartmental conference," Ryspaev said.
The Hanns Seidel Foundation Representative Makhabat Tashmatova said that the Foundation has been operating in Kyrgyzstan since 2002. "The Foundation cooperates with the SALGIER, the State Personnel Service and other agencies. The Fund has started to expand its activities with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, etc.," Tashmatova said.
