"The ministry announced on May 2 a centralized tender for the total amount of KGS 201.3 million. On 23 May, the public procurement portal opened the bids of the participants of the tender. There were 19 bidders: 18 local suppliers and one Russian supplier," Cholponbayev said.
The main result of the centralized tender is a reduction in prices. "The contest was held in 53 lots for a total of KGS 142.4 million. For all the lots of the tender, the savings (from the tender price) amounted to KGS 29 million, prices decreased from 10 to 50%. There is need to note that in 2018 we have saved about KGS 44.1 million," the minister said.
Deputy Chief Doctor of the National Hospital Bakyt Tolgonov said the hospital used to have to make purchases on its own, so suppliers were not interested in buying some drugs because of small volumes. "With the introduction of centralized bidding, we were able to increase the range of purchases, as well as the Health Ministry will conduct the procurement process itself, which is a great relief for the hospital," said Tologonov.
