Bishkek, June 28, 2019. /Kabar/. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) V regular Supervisory Board project was held on the bank of Issyk-Kul Lake.
The event was attended by representatives of the donor- the Embassy of Russia in the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Agriculture, Food Industry, Department of Tourism and Kyrgyz Technical University.
The Russian Federation financially supported the project. The Project Supervisory Board acts as an advisory board to provide strategic guidance on project activities, including approval of the project work plan, budget and monitoring of project implementation.
In her welcoming speech Olga Memedovic, UNIDO Project Manager, noted the importance of integration of production sectors with the tourism sector, which can become an effective growth strategy to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
The UNIDO team made a presentation on the project results. During the current year, the most important was to provide technical assistance to the beneficiaries.
Within the framework of this meeting participants summed up the interim results of the Final Phase of the project and laid down a 6-month work plan for the second half of 2019.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization is a specialized agency in the United Nations system, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The mission of UNIDO, as described in the Lima Declaration adopted at the fifteenth session of the UNIDO General Conference in 2013, is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States.
