Kazakhstan shortens budget for celebration of capital city birthday

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan will celebrate the 21st birthday of capital city Nur-Sultan on July 6, Zakon.kz reported.
The budget for celebration of this day will be reduced by 3 times, deputy mayor of the city Erlan Kanalimov said.
This year, about 100 events will be organized in the city, including 73 will be free, according to him.
300-400 million tenge are planned to be spent for the event.
"It is much less than it was before," Kanalimov noted.
The deputy mayor also said a cancellation of the celebration is impossible.
"This holiday is a favourite event not only for capital dwellers, but also for all Kazakhstanis. This is a summer period, three days off. A lot of people from all regions of the country will come to the city," he noted.
