AKIPRESS.COM - The Lebanon and Jordan authorities declared that their citizens that received injuries after incident at an oil field in Kazakhstan will be assisted in leaving the country, RIA Novosti said. About thirty people were wounded as a result of a brawl between Kazakh and foreign workers at the Tengiz oil field in Atyrau region of Kazakhstan.
According to the NNA agency of Lebanon, Minister of Defense of Lebanon during the telephone talk with his Kazakh colleague discussed the incident and called on him to ensure protection of the Lebanon diaspora in the country. The Minister also requested Kazakh authorities to take measures on resolution of the situation.
The Interior Ministry of Lebanon, in turn, said that the Embassy of the country in Kazakhstan is in talks with Kazakh authorities and its citizens working in the company.
Ambassador of Lebanon in Kazakhstan Giscard El Khoury told MTV that there are no detainees among those wounded in the conflict. According to him, the Embassy is organizing flight for those citizens, who wish to exit the country.
Interior Minister of Jordan Ayman Safadi posted on Twitter on Sunday that the Jordan employees are safe and that they are under protection. According to him, the Embassy of Jordan in cooperation with the Kazakh authorities will monitor the situation and ensure citizens security.
