Kazakhstan, UNESCO to create international center for rapprochement of cultures

AKIPRESS.COM - The government of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization signed an agreement on establishment of an international center for rapprochement of cultures under UNESCO. The document was signed by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay and Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova on June 25 in Paris.
The center is planned to be establiashed under auspices of UNESCO on the basis of a center of rapprochement of cultures under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan.
The initiative of the Kazakh side was approved at the 39th General Conference of the Organization in November 2017.
The center will aim to promote scientific researches, prepare publications, organize conferences and other activities concerning history and practice of intercultural cooperation in Central Asia and abroad.
