Center for breeding snow leopards to appear in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Snow Leopard Fund said up to $10 million will be spent for construction of a center for breeding snow leopards in Kazakhstan, Informburo reported. According to head of the Fund Erzhan Erkinbayev, the center will be located in Ile-Alatau National Park.snow leopard
No money will be allocated by the government for construction. The Fund will finance the works and plans to attract private funds.
The facility will occupy 512 hectares of land.
Construction will start in 2020. The Fund hopes the center will began its work in 2021-2022.
The snow leopard is one of the rarest mammals in Kazakhstan where the cats' habitat is fragmented over a minimum area of 50,000 sq km.
