Bishkek, July 4, 2019. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to South Korea Dinara Kemelova made a working visit to North Jeolla Province, South Korea in order to promote tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan and establish trade and economic relations, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
A presentation of the tourism and investment potential, as well as export opportunities of Kyrgyzstan was held in two districts of this province. A concert program with performance of national komuz (fretless string instrument) melodies and an excerpt from the epic of Manas were also presented. In addition, the Kyrgyz Embassy in Korea organized an exhibition of organic products (honey, ecologically clean berries jam, dried fruits and Kyrgyz sweets), national dress and products of artisans within the One Village - One Product project.
At the meeting with Wanju Mayor Park Soong Il Ambassador Kemelova told about the state’s policy on digitalization and development of the regions, and proposed to establish brotherly relations between Jalal-Abad and Wanju cities.
The issues of interregional cooperation were discussed during the meeting with Deputy Mayor of Chinan Choi Soon Yun. The Kyrgyz side offered to sign a memorandum of cooperation between Kyzyl-Kiya and Chinan cities.
The Embassy delegation also got acquainted with the Local Food project, aimed at village development and job creation, and met with travel agencies and famous TV presenters in order to attract Korean tourists to the Kyrgyz Republic. An agreement was reached to organize tours to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to make a documentary on the tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.
