Ecology Ministry of Kazakhstan plans to bring solid waste recycling level up to 40% by 2040

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Reources of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliyev during his visit to a landfill and solid waste recycling plant said the Ministry should bring the level of waste recycling to up to 40% by 2040, the Ministry reported.
According to him, waste recycling is an important issue in the country today.
In Nur-Sultan, only 14% of waste is recycled, the figure is much less in other regions of the country, he noted.
The measures taken in this sphere allowed to increase the share of solid waste recycling up to 11.51% in 2018 against 9% in 2017.
Separate collections are launched in 51 cities and districts out of 205 at various phases.
Further improvement of this sphere, a good investment, state support and funds are needed, the Minister said.
