Tashkent, July 8, 2019. /Kabar/. The stem cell bank will be created at the Centre of advanced technologies under the Ministry of Innovative Development with the participation of the Scientific Research Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the press service of the Uzbek Innovative Development Ministry reported.
The bank's register will provide information on the availability of stem cell samples for transplantation to patients suffering from cancer, haematopoiesis, anemia, radiation sickness and other serious diseases.
Over the past two years, specialists of the Scientific Research Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion of Uzbekistan have successfully conducted surgeries to transplant healthy bone marrow stem cells from peripheral blood of patients suffering from lymphoma and myeloma.
Today there are more than 170 banks of own and donor stem cells in the world.
