Financing school’s construction at expense of money from fight against corruption starts in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 9, 2019. /Kabar/. KGS 799.3 million has been allocated for the construction of 15 schools and additional school buildings in Chui Oblast, Bishkek and Osh cities for 2019. Funds were allocated from the Single Deposit Account for the fight against corruption, the press service of President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Note that earlier, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov visited several schools and got acquainted with their condition, and promised that the funds from the fight against corruption, arrived in special account, would be directed to the construction of new schools or additional buildings of secondary schools in Chui Oblast and Bishkek and Osh cities.
Since July 2019, funding for the construction of schools was opened through the Single Deposit Account. The first tranche has made KGS 15 million.
The Ministry of Finance will allocate funds as and when applications are received from the Department of Housing and Civil Construction of the State Agency of Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services under the Kyrgyz Government.
In the future, funds will be directed to all regions of the republic where there is a shortage of secondary schools.
The President on May 16, 2018 signed an order on the creation of a special account for the funds received as a result of the fight against corruption, the Single Deposit Account was opened in June of the same year.
