Ambassador Kemelova meets South Korean MP in Seoul

Bishkek, July 10, 2019. /Kabar/.. The meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to South Korea Dinara Kemelova and Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Chairman of the friendship group for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan Li Jong Bae took place in Seoul, South Korea.
During the meeting, Kemelova congratulated the Korean side on the recent historic meeting of Presidents of South Korea, the United States and leader of the DPRK in the demilitarized zone. The Kyrgyz ambassador expressed hope that the chosen path of negotiations will be aimed at preserving peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, as well as further prosperity of the region.
She noted the interest of the Kyrgyz side in further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.
Member of South Korean Parliament Li Jong Bae praised the Kyrgyz people's desire for democratic development and expressed hope that in the future Kyrgyzstan will achieve good results through parliamentary rule. He highlighted the status of ethnic Koreans in Kyrgyzstan, who live in friendship and harmony with other nationalities.
Ambassador Kemelova touched upon the topic of removing barriers in trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Korea and asked for legislative assistance in this area. The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of opening direct flights between the capitals of the two countries.
The sides agreed to hold regular meetings in the future.
