Kyrgyz Ambassador meets Member of National Assembly of Korea

Bishkek, July 10, 2019. / Kabar /. ​​Kyrgyz Ambassador Dinara Kemelova met with deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, chairman of the friendship group for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan Lee Jong Be, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Kemelova congratulated the Korean side on the recent historic meeting of the Presidents of South Korea, the USA and the DPRK leader in the demilitarized zone. She expressed hope that the chosen negotiating path would be aimed at preserving the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula, as well as further prosperity of the region.
The ambassador indicated the interest of the Kyrgyz side in the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.
Lee Jong Be praised the Kyrgyz people for democratic development and expressed the hope that in the future Kyrgyzstan will achieve good results thanks to parliamentary rule. The deputy of South Korea also noted the status of ethnic Koreans in Kyrgyzstan, who, together with representatives of other nationalities, live in friendship and harmony.
In turn, Kemelova asked to provide legislative assistance in removing barriers in trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea. The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of opening direct flights between the capitals of the two countries.
The parties agreed to hold regular meetings in the future.
