Defense Minister of Kazakhstan checks Otar military base after Arys accident

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev has inspected conditions and storage procedure of ammunition in Otar military base, the Ministry's press service said. The Minister checked compliance of the staff with fire safety requirements.
Ermekbayev was informed about storage of rockets and ammunition, state of military equipment and other things.
Otar Military Base is a military installation of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan located in the country's Korday district of Jambyl region.
Some 165 people were affected by explosion in the ammunition warehouse in Arys city of Turkestan region on June 24 morning. 89 of them were hospitalized, 76 released home for out-patient treatment. Three people died.
