Defense Minister of Uzbekistan visiting U.S.

AKIPRESS.COM - Defense Minister of Uzbekistan Bahodir Kurbanov is on visit to the United States, where he will meet Acting United States Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and other officials, U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum said.
The Defense Minister of Uzbekistan will visit military bases and academies during this visit.
In late 2015, the United States handed over 308 mine protected armored vehicles, 20 armored recovery vehicles to Uzbekistan.
The talks are in progress now on what other vehicles and supplies can be delivered to Uzbekistan, the Ambassador said.
A part of equipment will be handed over on a grant basis, some equipment can be purchased by Uzbekistan, the U.S. Ambassador stated.
