AKIPRESS.COM - At the press conference in the Government, Vice Minister of Finance Kanat Baedilov reported on the conditions and procedure for conducting a tax amnesty, Prime Minister's press service said.
The relevant law was signed by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev July 4 and will come into force July 16, 2019.
Baedilov noted that in the near future the Rules of Conducting a Tax Amnesty will be approved and shared with all territorial departments of state revenues.
According to the vice minister, a Roadmap has already been approved, under which state revenue bodies will conduct large-scale mass-explanatory work on the procedure for conducting a tax amnesty so that every citizen can use this company to write off accrued penalties by the end of this year.
"As of Jan. 1, 2019, 1.4 million individuals had tax debts totaling 20.9 billion tenge, of which the main debt was 14.3 billion tenge, and accrued interest was 6.6 billion tenge. The largest amounts, or 70% of tax arrears, are accounted for by vehicle tax. Land tax debt accounts for 12%, property tax - 6.7%," said Baedilov.
Since the beginning of this year, the state revenue bodies have carried out extensive preparatory work for the tax amnesty of individuals. In particular, the database was reconciled with the authorized bodies, as well as an inventory of personal accounts for the completeness and accuracy of the charges in order to update the personal accounts of taxpayers.
In this regard, as noted by the vice minister of finance, an important measure of this amnesty is the possibility of writing off tax debts to individuals who are not individual entrepreneurs, but who are tax debts from business activities.
"This debt was formed during the transition of the tax authorities from local to the republican tax information system in 2002 and 2003. As of Jan. 1, 2019, such tax arrears are registered in more than 16 thousand individuals for 700 million tenge, including the main debt of 400 million tenge, fines - 300 million tenge," explained Baedilov.
The only condition for the cancellation of penalties is the payment by the individual of the principal tax debt.
"Taxpayers do not need to go anywhere specifically for this, the state revenue bodies themselves will daily monitor the state of personal accounts of individuals and when they pay the principal debt they will make an appropriate decision to write off the penalty," concluded Baedilov, calling on all citizens who have tax arrears for Jan. 1, 2019, to use the opportunity to fulfill tax obligations without penalties imposed by the state.
