National Bank of Kazakhstan to evaluate asset quality in 14 largest banks

AKIPRESS.COM - The National Bank of Kazakhstan will evaluate the asset quality of 14 largest banks of the country, Chief of the Bank Erbolat Dosayev said today at the government's extended meeting, Zakon.kz reports.
Now the Bank is completing adaptation of the methodology of the European Central Bank, according to which the evaluation will be started from August 1.
"The work is planned to be finished by the end of this November. Then the Bank in partnership with the government will make a special plan of actions for the upcoming 2-3 years on measures and recommendations that are will be established as a result of the evaluation works," Dosayev said.
According to him, evaluation of the asset quality will allow to attract investors and boost the prestige of and trust to the banking system of Kazakhstan.
