Military warehouse in Arys to be relocated by end of May 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - The arms depot in the city of Arys is planned to be relocated by the end of May 2020, Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev said today at the extended governmental meeting. "Redeployment of the military warehouse started earlier than it was planned. We carried away all weapons. The ammunition is being transported due to several factors. This is, first of all, for safety consideration. A total of 28,000 tons of ammunition will be transported. These are about 817 railway vagons. According to the plan, the work will finish until May 2020, Ermekbayev noted.
During the government's extended meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has severely reprimanded the Defense Minister for the accident in Arys city. The head of state ordered the Ministry to conduct a thorough check of other military warehouses and prepare a report until August 20.
