Bishkek, July 15, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan participated in the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS-2019), which was held in Yekaterinburg, Russia on July 9-11.
The Kyrgyz Republic was represented by Emil Osmonbetov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use, the press service of the Committee reported.
Within the GMIS-2019 Osmonbetov took part as a speaker in the Ministerial panel session "Stimulation of diversified development and determination of future prospects of competitiveness of production in Eurasia".
He also took part in the session of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Industrial Policy Council, chaired by EEC Minister Alexander Subbotin and attended by ministers of industry of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The participants discussed issues on the agenda, and it was also proposed to hold the next meeting of the Council in October this year in Cairo (Egypt).
In the framework of the summit, Emil Osmonbetov met with Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Co-Chairman of the GIMS Li Yong.
On July 10 Chairman Osmonbetov met with regional director of the Business Eurasia Association (Vancouver, Canada) Tatiana Domilovskaya. They discussed the prospects for cooperation in mining and other industries, and planned joint activities to develop cooperation, including participation in the conference of mountain countries in Vancouver in January 2020.
The Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS-2019) is a joint initiative of the United Arab Emirates Department of Energy and Industry and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The first Summit was held in March 2017 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE. More than 3,000 delegates from more than 40 countries attended the Summit and discussed how to use the technologies developed during the fourth industrial revolution to strengthen and sustainably develop industry, society, business and national economies.
