Kyrgyz scientists to help farmers improve yields

Bishkek, July 17, 2019. /Kabar/. Governor of Chui Oblast Altynbek Namazaliyev visited Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Skryabin.
As part of the implementation of instructions of Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, a thorough discussion was held, and a decision to fully support the initiative on the Program of support for scientific research institutions, working in the agricultural sector was taken. The event was also held within the framework of the presidential decree on the declaring of 2019 the Year of regional development and digitalization of the country.
The governor of Chui Oblast noted that only comprehensive work and close interaction of farmers and scientists can lead to the development of agriculture. An agreement was reached, according to which scientists will carefully study the current state of arable land and farmers' plots.
"The overwhelming majority of farmers do not know how to use land resources correctly, disrupt crop rotation, and even resort to uncontrolled use of fertilizers, which ruin the soil," Governor Altynbek Namazaliyev said.
The meeting was attended by heads of regions of Chui Oblast, deans of all faculties of agrarian university and directors of research institutes. After conversation with scientists, the program on creation of conditions for peasants is created and the road map on realization of close interaction of farmers and scientists and livestock breeders is developed. Besides, the agreement on development of forestry and work in the field of creation of nurseries with tree seedlings is reached.
The Leadership of Chui Oblast also intends to develop a long-term strategic plan for agricultural development with the scientists’ support.
Yesterday, July 16 Prime Minister Mukhammadkalyi Ablygaziev visited Chui Oblast and familiarized with the activities of the research institute of livestock and pastures. The prime minister gave instructions to develop a Program of support for relevant research institutes.
