Bishkek, July 18, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told about the outcome of talks with South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon during his official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
PM Abylgaziev said that special attention was paid to the development and deepening of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, implementation of joint projects in health care, digitalization, education and regional development.
He noted the sides came to an understanding on all the main issues of the bilateral agenda, reached agreements and outlined big plans for the future.
"One of the main topics of the negotiations was the issue of expanding the commodity nomenclature and increasing trade turnover. In this regard, it is gratifying to note that Mr. Lee nak-yon brought with him large Korean businessmen and we have business forums within the official visit. As a result of the first day of the business forum, a number of business contracts have already been signed, including the construction of a plant in Kyrgyzstan to produce fiber optic cables, as well as the construction of a sports and health club. Today we continue the business forum in the B2B format. I am confident that our businessmen will be able to get closer and benefit from the partnership, which I and Mr. Lee Nak-yon wish very much," Abylgaziev said.
Abylgaziev said that from 2010 to 2018 the economy of Kyrgyzstan received USD 68.8 million of direct Korean investments. Taking into account the great interest of the Korean side in the field of infrastructure, transport and other projects as part of the public-private partnership, the Kyrgyz side sets itself a very realizable task to double these figures in the near future.
